So many people are quick to say they don’t like anyone who is too opinionated. A quote by Winston Churchill on this subject stands out to me: “If you don’t have any enemies in life you have never stood up for anything.” Why is it a bad thing to stand up for what you believe in instead of letting everyone walk all over you? Perhaps it’s just because I have strong opinions about almost everything, but I honestly believe that it’s a positive attribute to stand strong despite anyone disagreeing with you. I’d like to see someone name one person in history who became famous for following the rules and agreeing with everyone else. Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks, Susan B. Anthony, Robin Tyler, just to name a few, were definitely opinionated women, and they have helped to make America the great country that it is. I’m sorry to those of you who us free-thinkers offend, but nothing is going to change or improve if we don’t take a stand. Gay rights, racial equality, vegetarianism, pacifism, whatever the cause, we will fight for it despite any opposition; even if you don’t like it now, you’ll thank us in 50-100 years.
